Tech U Training Program
Tech U is a one-year program designed to train our young and career focused employees in their desired manufacturing career path. We are looking for current employees with a minimum of one year of shop experience. To be eligible, you need to be in good standing with Technique (no behavioral issues) and have good attendance. Above all, we are looking for candidates with an EAGERNESS to apply themselves, work hard, and learn a new trade.
We currently offer 3 Academies: Weld Technician, Prototype Technician, and Machining Technician.

What is the Tech U Training Program?
During this 1-year program, attendees will work alongside a senior technician. Trainees will assist the technicians in all aspects of the specific job. The trainee will have the opportunity to spend time in all areas of manufacturing to become proficient in each. The trainee will also attend a series of job-specific classes at JAMA and Jackson College.
Welding-The trainee will have the opportunity to spend time in all Technique Jackson locations during the Weld Rotation. They will work under the guidance of certified welders to become proficient welders.
Prototype-The Trainee will work primarily at Tech Dr and will work sanding and deburring parts, washing parts, loading tools, running hydraulic presses, inspecting parts, and operating laser cutting equipment. The trainee will have the opportunity to spend time in all areas of manufacturing to become proficient in each.
Machining-The Trainee will work primarily at Tech Dr under a certified Machinist. They will have the opportunity to learn SolidWorks and become a proficient machinist.
The starting wage for this program is $20/hour*. As a Tech U graduate, you will have the opportunity to increase your hourly wage commensurate with your performance.

What background is needed for this program?
This training program requires some experience in a shop setting or manufacturing. Applicants without this experience will not be considered. You must meet ALL of the following:
- Current employees with 1 year of service
- In good standing with Technique, Inc. in regard to attendance and behavior.
- EXCELLENT attitude, an eagerness to work HARD and dedication to learn a new trade
What do I do after the training program?
Your progress and performance will be evaluated at the end of the training program. The results of your evaluation will determine your wage and placement at Technique, Inc.
This opportunity is a pre-apprenticeship. If you choose, you can continue the apprenticeship at no cost.
