Quality Measurement Engineer
Position Summary / Responsibilities
Primary focus is verifying part, fixture and gauging quality while supporting manufacturing on the production floor. Utilizing CAD and working with models, engineering & manufacturing to ensure quality standards are utilized to meet part acceptability. Represent Technique Inc. in a positive & professional manner when dealing with suppliers and customers.
Position Purpose
- Prepare detailed dimensional reports from utilizing High Accuracy Portable 3D Measuring arm systems. (I.e.- Faro, Romer)
- Program software on & off line using model base definitions from CAD (Inspecting parts, fixtures and gauges)
- Utilize CAD for dimension information and geometry
- Apply GD&T in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 with tolerance of up to .XXXmm places
- Utilize free-lance set-ups and designing holding fixtures
- Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results, screen dumps
- Must be proficient in the use of inspection equipment such as optical comparator and surface plate setups
- Analyze statistical information/reports to determine current production efficiency and quality levels
- Analyze inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, and processing procedures.
- Assist Process Technicians with qualification and validation of new or changed tooling, fixtures and parts.
- Develop measurement programs for special projects.
- Must possess good organizational skills and be detail oriented
- Assist in supporting production in developing temporary and permanent root cause counter measures.
- Assist in effectively troubleshooting quality issues in search of root cause analysis (using data).
- Participate in change control process (e.g., ECR, ECN, Customer Deviations)
- Prepares summary and detailed data reports ensuring all data is easily interpreted by Technique and customers.

· Perform incoming, 1st Piece, final, and planned inspections including tooling and fixtures
· Able to multitask in a high-stress manufacturing environment
· Strong understanding of GD&T and blue prints
· Inspection & assembly fixture experience required
· Knowledge of inspection techniques & measurement instruments to perform Gage R&R and Capability studies
· Experience in Microsoft office software is required
· Knowledge of inspection techniques & measurement instruments including: Comparators’, Surface Plate Layout, Interpret Engineering Drawings and/or Product specifications or other defined criteria.
· Utilize document control procedures, assisting and training manufacturing personnel as needed
· Must be able to interpret standards & specifications (i.e.- ASTM, ANSI, AWS, OEM, & SAE)
· Participate on various teams for improving inspection methods.
2 or 4 year technical degree preferred, experience 7 years in quality layout experience
