From Jackson Chamber Newsletter:
Technique, Inc., a Jackson Manufacturer who specializes in Emergency Manufacturing and Rapid Prototyping did what the company does best – it answered a critical need quickly and exponentially.
On March 19th, 2020 Ronnie Johncox, Owner of Technique, Inc., found himself meeting with Henry Ford Allegiance Health Staff discussing their desperate need for PPE - particularly the shortage of face shields.
The Technique Team worked 24/7 through that weekend and on March 23rd, shipped the first (25) Production Face Shields. “We were using unfamiliar materials, with untrained workers, unproven processes, and unknown markets. In 3 weeks Technique passed the threshold of manufacturing and distributing over 100,000 face shields. I could not be more proud of the entire Technique Team.”, states Johncox.
Employees who would typically spend their shifts welding or running CNC lathes and mills – soon found themselves sewing headbands, running a rivet gun, or packaging on high speed assembly lines.
Local business partners such as Alro Steel, Alro Pastics, and Classic Metal Finishing provided critical 24x7 supply chain support in the effort. Other local businesses such as Caster Concepts, RTD, Production Saw, Country Stitches, and Pro Logo all provided a boost to key capacity constraints.
We were pleased with the overwhelming support we received from the Jackson community and the media recognizing our employees and their hard work. Culver’s Restaurant and others provided our entire workforce with lunches during this time as we were working around the clock to provide critical PPE to many Jackson and State health care facilities.
The “thank-you” letters, cards and emails from the public were touching and inspired our workforce, as many shared personal stories of how what we were doing were protecting, a son, daughter, or spouse who works on the front lines.
Some of the media highlights are listed below.
