Position Objective
Sets up and operates one or more centerless grinding machines to grind external outer diameter (O.D) of metal workpieces (tubing) to blueprint specifications, following tooling instructions and standard charts and applying knowledge of grinding procedures. Reads blueprint and job order for product specifications, such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground, and tooling instructions, such as grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.
These positions require safe work practices that are clearly defined within company and department specific safety procedures.
This position offers several shift options, including:
1st shift 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
2nd shift 12:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday, shift premium applies.
2nd shift 3:45 p.m. – 2:15 a.m. Monday – Thursday, shift premium applies.
Weekend shift: 3/12-hour (36 hours/week) shift; compensated at 40 hours with shift premium.
Weekend day shift: 5:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Weekend night shift: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
